When Is the Best Time to Spray for Mosquitoes?
There is no single best hour for every mosquito treatment. A spray aimed at flying mosquitoes works differently from a treatment on their resting areas. The product directions, weather and time needed before you use the yard matter more than a blanket rule to spray at dusk.
Start with the type of treatment.
Space sprays target mosquitoes that contact droplets in the air. Timing those applications around the target species matters. UGA notes that day-biting mosquitoes may be resting when evening space sprays are applied.
Residual treatments go on suitable resting surfaces, such as shaded vegetation. CDC distinguishes these from airborne sprays. A daytime appointment for a resting-area treatment is therefore a different situation from evening community fogging. Ask which method is proposed before comparing appointment times.

Wind can carry spray away from its target. Temperature and other environmental conditions also affect application decisions. Follow the specific product label rather than a universal wind speed or rain-free interval found online.
If rain is forecast around your visit, contact us about the schedule. Do not assume that every shower means another application is needed. Tell us when rain occurred and whether you are still noticing mosquitoes so we can discuss the next step.
Leave time before people and pets return.
Schedule around when you need the treated space. CDC advises keeping people and pets out until the treatment has dried and following the product directions. For our visits, plan on approximately one hour and wait until treated areas are fully dry.
Tell us about an outdoor gathering when you request a quote. A visit just before guests arrive can leave too little time for drying. Point out flowering plants, edible gardens and water features before treatment so the application area is clear.
